SSS members can now pay their contributions online

Overseas Filipino workers can now make use of the Social Security System's newly opened Internet-based payment system for individual members, a top official said.

OFWs and self-employed SSS members can pay their contributions using BancNet's online facility to ensure fast and accurate posting of contributions. SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Corazon De la Paz-Bernardo said the new electronic channel would allow self-employed and voluntary members and overseas Filipino workers to avoid long queues in making payments.

The Internet has always been a medium for speedy and convenient transaction, and with the increasing density of Internet users, we expect better response from our members, De la Paz-Bernardo said. Only individual members who are BancNet ATM cardholders of participating banks can pay their contributions through BancNet Online (www.bancnetonline.com) without need for enrollment.

Under the online facility, payments will be remitted to SSS through electronic transfer. Members also get immediate acknowledgment of their payment and transaction results are immediately reflected on the screen.

We urge our members with BancNet ATM cards to use SSS BancNet online facility, De la Paz -Bernardo said. All they have to do is log on and follow the step-by-step instructions. The online facility is not available for employers who can only remit payments to the SSS through existing channels like the Electronic DataInterchange or SSSNet, the Automatic Debit Arrangement for household employers and over-the-counter facilities of accredited banks and selected SSS branches. Participating BancNet-member banks of the online payment facility are Allied Bank , Asia United Bank, China Bank, Chinatrust, Sterling Bank of Asia, Citystate Savings Bank, Export Bank, PBCom, Philtrust Bank, RCBC, RCBC Savings Bank, Security Bank, and Standard Chartered.
