As the new school year dawns for millions of students nationwide, the Books Across The Seas (BATS) project goes on to continue its advocacy in providing avenues to donate educational books nationwide, particularly to those in need. On April 29, 2008, Principal/School Head Erna Alogon of Amaga Elementary School in Roxas City, Capiz received their book donations from SM/BH Teresita T. Contreras of Roxas City branch. Ten days later on May 9, Principal/Head Teacher III Rosalina L. Agapay of Concepcion National High School in Malitbog, Southern Leyte became a recipient of quality reading materials from AM/BH Ma. Luisa V. Gonzales of Maasin branch. On separate occasions, M/BH Amor D. Dumanon of Aguilar branch paved the way for School Young Achievers International School (May 14) and Neo Brightside Christian Academy (May 23) to receive their share of educational books. School Directress Edna Ocampo (YAIS) and Board of Trustees member Chegal Ae Sook (NBCA) received the donated books on their school's behalf. Meanwhile, school officials from Colegio De La Imaculada Concepcion, led by Librarian Adelaida Malaque visited AM/BH Ramiro J. Caballes and the rest of Gorordo branch last May 22 to receive the donated books, with Principal Eufemia S. Gomo being delighted by the Bank's support. Gladly, all schools officials expressed their gratitude for the Bank's support.
Allied Bank, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati, spearheads the BATS project as part of its corporate social responsibility in uplifting the standard of education in the country.
